過溝福餅緣由
過溝莊位於美麗的嘉南平原最西邊，含布袋鎮的三個里，一百多年前是台灣數一數二的大莊，出了不少文人雅士，居民對過溝輝煌的歷史頗為自豪。由於社會的變遷，鄉村年輕人紛紛到都市求學就業，目前留在鄉村的居民以年長者與孩童居多。過溝臨近的村莊有東石鄉的栗子崙、塭仔、網寮、白水湖、掌潭，居民以養殖、務農、剝蚵為業。附近的鰲鼓濕地生態資源豐富，是全國最佳賞鳥景點。
Guogou village is at the far west side of Chianan Plain (嘉南平原), inside Budai Township (布袋鎮) and consists of three “Li”s (里). One hundred years ago, it was one of the large villages in Taiwan and was the residence of many scholars. The village residents are very proud of their brilliant history. Over the years, due to the changes in society, many young people left the village to the cities to study and work. Currently, remaining residents in the village are mostly older adults and children. The villages nearby include lizilun (栗子崙), ponds (塭仔), wong-liao (網寮), white water lake (白水湖),and palm lake (掌潭) of Dongshih Township. The residents work on breeding fish, farming rice and vegetables and harvesting oysters (opening oyster shells). Augo wetland ecosystem in the vicinity is abundant in fish and birds, and is one of the best bird watching spots.
這幾年來台北有一群專業優秀的藝術老師們暑假固定來到過溝地區，進入幾個中、小學校與教會教導偏鄉的國中、小學生藝術課程，晚上為社區婦女傳授烘焙與烹飪手藝，這是一份對鄉土關懷與愛的分享。老師們有一個夢想就是讓更多都市的朋友認識台灣鄉村之美，也協助偏鄉的藝術教育，因此采无畫集老師們與過溝國中∕路得協會一起發起路得盃美術比賽，得到嘉義縣政府的協助。讓喜愛繪畫的偏鄉孩子有可揮灑的舞台。
Recent years, a group of professional fine art teachers come to Guogou regularly in the summer vacation time. They enter several elementary and middle schools and churches to teach art classes in the daytime. In the evening, they teach baking and cooking classes to the community women. They care the country villages and love the community. These teachers have a dream and that is to have more city friends to know the beauty of rural Taiwan. In addition, they help rural art education. Hence the teachers of Tasi-Woo-Hwa-Gi (采无畫集) launched Ruth Cup art competition with the helps from Guogou middle school and Ruth Association. This competition was assisted by the Chiayi County Government. The activity let the art-loving children in the remote villages to have a platform in showing their painting.
2012的夏天知名的烘焙老師為過溝村莊製作了創意餅, 融合了鄉土在地食材，保留台灣傳統口味，加入都市的健康概念，我們為此餅取名「過溝福餅」，藉著此餅台灣的鄉村與都市互相祝福，願享用福餅的朋友們把愛傳承下去。
In the summer of 2012, a famous baking teacher designed the recipe and baked the creative cake to carry the name of Guogou village. The cake combines ingredients that were found locally, keeps the traditional tastes of Taiwanese cakes and includes the city health concept. We named this cake “Gougou – Lucky Cake” and with this, we hope to have the country villages and the cities blessing each other. We wish our friends to enjoy the cake and to share their loves to other people.

三年前，我太太詹秀齡曾經和她畫圖班的老師與同學們一起到嘉義過溝國中進行藝術下鄉的活動，那時就對當地的風土民情有很深的印象。曾經也是繁華大莊的過溝，現在與許多鄉鎮一樣面臨青壯人口外移，只留下熟齡人士與孩童在當地繼續以養殖、務農、剝蚵為生。
今年中秋，秀齡聽到過溝有一群熱心的志工和當地社區婦女一起，利用當地食材，加入健康概念研發出「過溝福餅」，在路得協會的幫助下包裝行銷，成為刺激在地經濟的特色產業，不但讓年輕人可以留在家鄉工作，收益也都會回饋當地弱勢家庭與兒童藝術發展。像這樣有意義的事情我們一定要支持，所以超越基金會率先訂購了五十盒福餅作為中秋禮盒，分送給基金會的員工和好朋友們，小小的福餅不甜膩，吃進嘴裡卻有滿滿的感動。今天也將這個訊息分享給大家，希望有更多人一起來支持好吃的「過溝福餅」！
