Out-Reach Small Group

Jesus said “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. Whoever believe and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned” Mark 16: 15-16.

It is the duty of our Christians to go out, reach many non-believers and let them know the good news so that they can be transformed and saved from the sins of this world. With this in mind, Ruth asked me to co-host an “Out-Reach Small Group” in Sunday night from 7:30 pm to 8:30 pm. She also asked three Church sisters to join so that they can learn how to host a small group in the future.

In last Sunday’s small group session, we have six non-believers including two couples and two sisters from the village joined five of our Church members joined. Previously, Ruth and I visited these two couples. Mr. Hsieh is a devoted Buddhist and spent years in meditation practice. He told Ruth a story that recently he saw with his vision, a person in bright light touching a sick person and the sick person immediately got healed. He felt a strong “merciful” field surrounding the scene. Ruth told him that he actually saw Jesus and told the Biblical story to him. Mr. Lin, an elementary school teacher lost his daughter years ago. His daughter was hit by a drunken driver on her way home. Mr. and Mrs. Lin went through a sorrowful period and our Church members supported them during that difficult time.

We sang “Thank to God” before Ruth presented her first sharing, entitled 愛的根源 (God is Love). We have a short sharing and Ruth assigned a reading homework for this week — Gospel of Mark, chapter 1 through 7. This is the beginning of our “Out-Reach Small Group”. We pray that God will bless this group and give us the wisdom and strength to lead this group; bless all the members for them to know Jesus.
